Like I said-still a high rating and I did have fun playing it, but some let downs and repetition really hindered the experience. There are also secrets hidden throughout the levels that can be interesting, but for the most part are quite a letdown. This is an unapologetically breathless, adrenaline-drenched time-loop shooter from Arkane Studios, makers of Dishonored and Prey, and it gives players immense freedom to explore, combine weapons. And each target only has one or two methods of disposal, so it isn't like the Hitman games where you can try different methods. There may be quite a few (sometimes frustrating) main targets, but there are only four levels with minor variations depending on the time of day. If, like me, this compels you to collect all of the slabs and weapons in order to complete all of the leads-then this is a very repetitive experience. I understand that it is a difficulty and strategy mechanic, but it makes the game less fun and more frustrating. Or you realize a situation would be easier with a certain power or trinket that you didn't bring along on the mission. It's a real bad time when you find a cool new power that is slightly less useful than your current one and you have to leave one behind. ![]() The only difference is that you can only equip two at a time (and only four trinkets) which was a huge letdown for me. It may seem unfair to compare to another game by the same studio, but the powers are straight out of Dishonored 2.
